5.7L HEMI® VVT V8 ENGINE
Standard on Ram 3500 Heavy Duty truck (single rear wheel models only), the 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine is equipped with enhanced Variable Valve Timing (VVT) to help improve torque. Interactive Deceleration Fuel Shut Off (IDFSO) shuts valves down during cruising and deceleration for optimal efficiency and performance.

Whether you carry your weight in a trailer or in the cargo box, Ram Heavy Duty trucks offer Best-in-Class max towing when equipped with the available 6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel I6 engine. When mated to the available AISIN automatic transmission, it generates Best-in-Class 900 pound-feet of maximum diesel torque, with a maximum towing capacity of over 31,000 pounds. And with the Electronic Range Select and tow/haul mode, you can take control and get the job done with confidence.
Transmission
Efficiently transfer power to the wheels with the 66RFE six-speed automatic transmission. Driver adaptive shifting and three planetary gear sets provide capability with precise ratio steps for optimum drivability. This transmission is available with the 5.7L HEMI® V8 and 6.4L HEMI V8 engines only.
